Immediate and comprehensive response to a hazardous     material emergency can minimize adverse health effects,     environmental  damage  and  financial  liability. The focal     points  for  providing  emergency  response  services for     ECI   are   the   Torrance,     California   Facility   and  the
Richmond,  California Facility.  These  facilities staff and     maintain a  24-hour  emergency  hotline and dispatching     service.  This  allows ECI to react instantly to all  types of emergencies with properly  trained  personnel and  state
of the art equipment.  All incoming  call are  documented through   ECl's  dispatch center,  which  is equipped with personnel  rosters  and   paging   systems  to  allow   the dispatcher  to   deploy   the  individuals   with   the   most experience working with certain spills and the employee that can respond in the shortest period of time..


 

In depth knowledge regarding hazardous materials and the ability to apply this  knowledge during emergencies is essential for the successful management of
the release.   ECl's  response  teams  consist  of experienced technicians who 
have endured extensive training,including classroom and demonstration. Field exercises are  performed to develop expertise in safety,  equipment operation, 
hazard recognition and evaluation.
